How it works



Why antenna gain matters
Terrain really matters when it comes to antenna performance. The long and flat radiation pattern of a high gain antenna is ideal in open country but is unsuited to hilly terrain or built up areas where the radiation pattern of a low gain antenna is more effective. With traditional antennas you have to compromise on performance or deal with the inconvenience of swapping antenna whips as you move through different areas.

Control and monitoring

The companion app for our smart antennas enables real-time updates of pre-loaded terrain maps or manual selection of high and low gain modes.
It also allows you to monitor your smart antenna’s current mode and tilt, and your vehicle’s battery voltage.
Installation and operation

Connecting the smart antenna to your signal repeater is easy but we recommend engaging an auto-electrician to ensure optimal performance and safe operation.
The smart antenna has two cables coming from it; one that goes directly to your device and another that will be hardwired to your vehicle’s battery.

Yes, you can. Just make sure the bracket is strong enough to hold the antenna securely. Always return it to the upright position before driving to ensure the best performance.
We recommend installing it on the bull bar if your vehicle has one. If you already have another antenna, try to keep them separated by 68–126 cm or 131–253 cm to reduce interference. If your vehicle doesn’t have a bull bar, it can be mounted to a bonnet bracket. Just make sure the bracket and screws are heavy-duty enough for the antenna’s weight and height. Ask your installer for advice if you’re unsure.
Yes. If the Smart Antenna loses power, it will still operate as a basic low-gain antenna. However, you won’t be able to switch gain modes or access it through the app until power is restored.
It draws only 0.7 watts at 12V, which is very low. The antenna also has a built-in low voltage cut-off, which switches it off if the voltage drops too low so it doesn’t drain your battery. You can view and adjust the voltage settings in the companion app.
Search for “Zetifi Smart Antenna” in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. The app works on most modern phones using iOS 13.4 or newer, or Android 6.0 or newer. Clear instructions appear when you open the app. You only need to install it on one phone to manage the antenna. Other devices in your vehicle will still benefit from the improved signal without the app.
No. The app is used during setup, for updates and to monitor performance. Once this information has been saved to the antenna, it works independently without needing the app to be open.
Yes. The Smart Antenna uses a standard SMA connector and works with any device that needs a strong mobile signal, including cellular routers, gateways and signal repeaters. It’s a great way to boost coverage and provide Wi-Fi in and around your vehicle.
The Smart Antenna runs on 12V power. If your setup uses 24V, you’ll need a 24V to 12V DC-to-DC converter. These are easy to find at retailers like Jaycar.
